Ann Marie Liss and Basil Vendryes perform in Dillon on Sunday as part of the Breckenridge Music Festival.

If you’re looking for some refined melodies of a brilliant harp and viola duo, look no further than the Sunday, April 7th performance by Duo Esprit at Lord of the Mountains Church in Dillon. For just $15 in advance per adult ticket (free for children and students 17 and under), your ears will be filled with musical delights arranged and performed by harpist, Ann Marie Liss and violist, Basil Vendryes.

Ann Marie is a member of the Colorado College performance faculty and was the youngest harpist to be awarded the prestigious Diplôme Supérieure de Concertiste (DMA) from the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. Basil instructs viola at DU’s Lamont School of Music, and when he is not teaching, is principal violist of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Duo Esprit began working together out of mutual admiration for each other’s playing, and a desire to make their own recording of Bax’s Fantasy-Sonata. Together, the pair has since been able to hone in on their somewhat unusual sound and weave personal styles into the music through commissioned pieces.

This 4pm concert is co-sponsored by Summit Music and Arts and Breckenridge Music Festival. After the performance, be sure to check out the WhatToDo Dining Guide for local restaurant suggestions.
